Orion is on of my favorite constellations. And I have seen the nebule close up.

Orion must be one of the most recognisable constellations in the sky - and one of the easiest to use to illustrate the rotation and movement of the earth!

Indeed. I think Orion probably is one of the most recognizable constellations. One of the astronomy books I have even uses Orion as a 'signpost' for finding other stars and constellations.
